देवि प्रपन्नार्तिहरे प्रसीद
प्रसीद मातर्जगतोऽखिलस्य ।
प्रसीद विश्वेश्वरि पाहि विश्वं
त्वमीश्वरी देवि चराचरस्य ॥

The word "prapannārti" refers to the distress or suffering
of those who have surrendered (prapanna), and "hare" indicates the
act of removing that suffering. The word "prasīda" means
"be pleased" or "show mercy."
2. Prasīda mātargato’khilasya:
"Oh Mother of the entire universe, be pleased."
Here, the devotee addresses the
Goddess as "Mātā" or
"Mother," symbolizing her nurturing and caring nature for the entire
cosmos. The word "akhilasya" refers to the whole or entire creation,
indicating the universality of her motherhood. The request for her to be
pleased is repeated, emphasizing the desire for her grace.
3. Prasīda viśveśvari pāhi viśvaṃ:
"Be pleased, Oh ruler of the universe, protect the world."
In this line, the Goddess is
referred to as "Viśveśvari,"
meaning the ruler or queen of the universe. The word "pāhi" is a
plea for protection, and "viśva" refers
to the entire world or universe. The devotee is asking her to safeguard the
world from harm.
4. Tvamīśvarī devi carācarasya:
"You are the supreme ruler of everything that moves and does not move, Oh
Goddess."
The final part acknowledges the
Goddess’s supremacy over both the animate (moving) and inanimate (non-moving)
aspects of creation. The word "carācara"
means "moving and non-moving," indicating the totality of creation.
The devotee acknowledges the Goddess’s ultimate authority over the entire cosmos,
recognizing her as the supreme power that governs all.

है सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि, जो देवी की सार्वभौमिकता का संकेत है। यहाँ भी
"प्रसीद" का पुनरावृत्ति होती है, जो उनकी कृपा की प्रबल इच्छा को दर्शाता है।
3. प्रसीद विश्वेश्वरि पाहि विश्वं:
"हे विश्व की स्वामिनी, कृपा करें और संसार की रक्षा करें।"
इस पंक्ति में
देवी को "विश्वेश्वरि" कहा गया है, जिसका अर्थ है "विश्व की स्वामिनी।" "पाहि" का अर्थ है
रक्षा करना, और "विश्वं" का अर्थ है सम्पूर्ण
संसार। यहाँ पर संसार को किसी भी संकट से बचाने की प्रार्थना की जा रही है।
4. त्वमीश्वरी देवि चराचरस्य:
"हे देवी, आप चर और अचर, सब कुछ की परम शासिका हैं।"
अंतिम भाग में
देवी की सर्वोच्चता को स्वीकार किया गया है। "चराचर" का अर्थ है जो चलता
है (चर) और जो नहीं चलता (अचर), अर्थात्
सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि। यहाँ पर भक्त स्वीकार कर रहा है कि देवी सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड की
सर्वोच्च शक्ति हैं, जो सब कुछ का संचालन करती हैं।
